Narva-Jõesuu and Karlskrona discussed youth cooperation

Last week, Narva-Jõesuu hosted a delegation from its Swedish twin town Karlskrona. On Friday, 26 September, a meeting took place at the city government to discuss future cooperation between the two towns.
During the meeting, Narva-Jõesuu mayor Maksim Iljin and Karlskrona mayor Peter Glimvall signed a letter of intent for further partnership.
Among the invited participants was MTÜ Noorteaeg leader Mikhail Gladyshev, a 19-year-old resident of Narva-Jõesuu. In his speech, he raised the topic of youth cooperation between the towns and countries.
Youth exchanges give young people from Narva-Jõesuu a chance to see how their peers live and develop in Sweden, while also sharing their own experience, energy and ideas.
The team had already prepared a project through which active young residents of Narva-Jõesuu would be able to travel to Karlskrona. There, they would learn about youth centres, visit a university and schools, take part in joint meetings and discover more about the culture and life of the twin town.
We believe this is only the beginning: joint projects and meetings can support youth development, strengthen ties between the towns and open new opportunities for the future.
