Young people are collecting community perspectives across Ida-Virumaa

Young participants in the project “Youth Perspectives on Just Transition in Ida-Virumaa” have started the community dialogue phase.
During August and September, participants are speaking with residents in Narva-Jõesuu and other parts of Ida-Virumaa about changes taking place in the region. The conversations focus on practical topics such as employment, environmental change, quality of life, opportunities for young people and the future development of Ida-Virumaa.
The interviews are organised as short and informal conversations. Participants use common guiding questions, but residents are free to describe their own experiences and priorities. The aim is to collect a wide range of local perspectives rather than look for one “correct” opinion. The youth group will later compare the answers, identify recurring themes and prepare the findings for the next stage of the project.
The project is implemented by MTÜ Noorteaeg through the Funding Fairer Futures programme with support from the European Union.
