Youth Democracy and Active Participation Programme
About the project
The project helps young people better understand democracy, civic engagement and participation in society. During the summer, participants will gain new knowledge and create their own democracy-focused youth initiative for young people in the region.
Details
Project idea
The project provides young people with an opportunity to learn about democracy, civic rights, media literacy and participation through non-formal education methods.
A key element is the active involvement of young people in planning and implementing activities themselves, giving them practical experience in turning ideas into action.
Main activities
The programme includes training sessions on democracy and civic engagement, interactive workshops, expert discussions, formation of a youth project team and cooperation with local partners.
The final part will be the preparation and implementation of a public democracy-themed youth event for a wider regional youth audience.
Expected result
Participants will gain knowledge and practical experience in civic participation, strengthen their initiative skills and organise a youth-led democracy event for the wider community.
The project will increase young people’s knowledge of democracy, civic engagement and participation opportunities while providing practical experience in turning ideas into action.
Implementation and support
The project is implemented by MTÜ Tulevik Pluss. MTÜ Noorteaeg is a project partner.
The Youth Democracy and Active Participation Programme is implemented with the support of the Estonian Education and Youth Board (Haridus- ja Noorteamet) under the Noorte Heaks 2026 programme.
